PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH

Overview

Physical Education and Health is a broad learning area encompassing the subjects of Food and Nutrition, Outdoor Pursuits, Physical Education, and Health. Our senior students can select these learning areas as standalone subjects, while for junior students in Years 7 to 10, Physical Education and Health is a single compulsory subject and Food and Nutrition is offered as an optional subject. Our subjects are very practical and focus on encouraging our students to be active and make smart choices to enhance their wellbeing.

Safety certification

MAC has achieved AdventureMark certification, an internationally recognised safety certification that confirms our school meets the highest levels of safety in adventure activities. This certification recognises our school’s long-standing commitment to safety in its delivery of our nationally renowned Outdoor Pursuits courses and applies to rock climbing and abseiling, white water kayaking, canoeing and rafting, mountain biking, canyoning, and alpine hiking activities.

Partnership with RacersEdge

Mount Aspiring College’s partnership with RacersEdge reflects a shared passion for the outdoors and our commitment to giving our students the opportunity to experience the benefits of physical education and outdoor pursuits in a setting of outstanding beauty. RacersEdge provides valuable support through the provision of outdoor uniforms for our Physical Education and Health staff along with generous discounts on equipment and apparel for our school community, naming sponsorship of the MAC bike enduro competition and second-tier sponsorship of the MAC ski championships.
